Ocean Week Canada is an annual national celebration of the ocean during the week of World Ocean Day (June 8). This year, Nova Scotia Underwater Council in collaboration with Ocean School and Project SculptShore is organizing a full day of activities to celebrate Ocean Week Halifax on June 10th at the Queens Marque Courtyard in the Halifax boardwalk. This is an all-day outdoor event to celebrate our ocean playground! The event is free, open to the public, and family-friendly, so make sure to save the date and stop by. Learn, have fun, take action and connect with Canada's waterways!

The whole family is invited to try out the Ocean, Freshwater, and Us giant floor map and augmented reality (AR) app. This giant floor map (11m x 8m) can be walked on and, with the help of its AR app, allows you to understand and learn more about the ocean and Canadian waterways!

Visit Ocean School’s booth and meet our team! Try out our resources with our VR headsets and make your favourite ocean button with our button-making station.

Learn more about the amazing works of other ocean organizations and take part in a shoreline cleanup to fill Project SculptShore's baby whale sculpture.
You can visit the booth of Project SculptShore, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Dalhousie University Let's Talk Science, Scotian Shores, Atlantic shark expeditions, Ocean Wise, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) and many more.

The Nova Scotia Underwater Council (NSUC) was formed in 1971 by volunteer representatives of the Nova Scotia dive community to preserve, support, and promote diver tourism and education in the province. We are committed to cultivating an enriched, inclusive, and environmentally aware diving experience, where the community can come together for the betterment of the sport, the individual, and the future of diving in Nova Scotia.
A six-metre long fillable sculpture of a North Atlantic Right Whale is at the heart of a unique conservation collaboration underway across the Maritimes that aims to focus on the solutions and bring direct action to the impact ocean debris is having on Atlantic shorelines and marine species.
