Are you ready to take an augmented reality field trip to explore Canada’s waters?
Join our session on May 18 at the 2023 Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) Conference in Ottawa. Come and experience the giant floor map The Ocean, Freshwater and Us, developed by the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition, Canadian Geographic, and the National Film Board of Canada. With the help of the Ocean Week Canada augmented reality app, you will be able to explore the map and learn about the importance of marine protection, biodiversity, and the interconnectedness of all living creatures. The app includes research and content from across Canada in English and French, featuring videos by Students on Ice, Indigenous Water Guardians, and Ocean School.
This session will be an interactive and engaging experience for all participants. You will have the opportunity to walk on the floor map and try the augmented reality app for yourself. You will also learn how this resource was co-designed by a national team of partners and how it can be used to promote STEM education and hands-on learning.
