2027 Nova Scotia Climate Education and Citizen Science Summit

Join high school teachers from across Nova Scotia for a free, hands-on day of citizen science. Field Guide Learning's Engagement Team will walk you through four classroom-ready projects that link to the Nova Scotia curriculum. Each one comes with everything you need to run it with your students. You'll leave with the training, the gear and the confidence to start right away.

Your day includes:

• A guided tour of the Beaty Centre

• A talk from our guest speaker

• Hands-on training in all four projects

• Time to connect with educators who share your interests

• Lunch, snacks and refreshments

You'll take home:

• A $200 honorarium

• $800 worth of classroom-ready citizen science equipment

• Access to optional online training from Water Rangers on using their data platform

Coming from outside Halifax? We cover your hotel, mileage and a per diem.

Space is limited to 30 teachers to ensure that everyone gets the chance to gain hands-on experience.

We will review all applications to build a diverse cohort, ensuring:

• Geographic representation across Nova Scotia

• Priority for educators in underserved communities

The deadline to apply is January 31, 2027. Our team will review all submissions and follow up by March 1, 2027, to confirm your placement or offer a spot on our waitlist.

If you have any questions about the training or the application process, please reach out to info@fieldguidelearning.ca. We look forward to reading your applications!
